Last Tuesday, we left our laptops (and logic) behind for the high-pressure glass walls of The Cube, Canary Wharf. Rounds of seven pulse-raising challenges. Randomly picked teams. No prep. And absolutely no mercy.
On the surface, it was a team-building afternoon. But what it really showcased? That the way we play is the way we work together, determined, and a little too invested.
Just like in the day-to-day of campaign delivery, we were thrown into the unknown, had to adapt fast, and leaned on each other’s strengths. And somewhere between the laughs, (fake) tantrums and leaderboard battles, we were reminded: when PDV gets stuck into a challenge, we don’t back down.
Debbie & Marco: From chaos to comeback
After a rocky start (see our LinkedIn for the full drama), Debbie and Marco regrouped for a rematch in Interchange. This time? Complete focus. Clean execution. Watch to see the action unfold!
It was the perfect reminder that setbacks don’t stop us, they fuel us. At PDV, we learn fast, adapt faster, and come back stronger. Whether it’s navigating an intense game or a tricky campaign pivot, we’re always up for the challenge and we don’t stop until we get results.
Jake & Tony: Circumvent Kings
Some games separate the thinkers from the panickers. Enter Circumvent – a test of timing, logic, and not completely losing your cool.
Jake and Tony breezed through it like they’d trained for this moment. Sharp thinking. Laser focus. Effortless teamwork. Basically, a masterclass in what happens when two people are on exactly the same wavelength.
We bring that same clarity and calm to our campaigns cutting through complexity, solving problems quickly, and always keeping our eyes on the outcome. Watch their win:
Matt & Ross: Victory in Pass
Possibly the most unexpected win of the day? Matt and Ross in Pass – a game that’s more about pressure and precision than brute force.
Not only did they rise to the challenge – they owned it! Smooth handoffs, perfect pacing, and nerves of steel. Honestly, it was the campaign equivalent of hitting every milestone on a tight deadline… and still finishing early. Watch and tell us if you can handle it:
This is how we work
Every challenge brought something different but the thread running through them all? Teamwork. From spontaneous strategy sessions to last-second saves, it’s exactly how we approach our client work: think together, test ideas, support each other, and always push for the win.
We show up with the same passion for a puzzle inside a cube as we do for a campaign brief. Because when we commit, we go all in whether it’s Circumvent or data marketing solutions. Take a look at some of our moments in the Cube:
And of course…
We upheld tradition by letting Nigel win because we all want to keep our jobs and, frankly, no one could handle the post-defeat brooding if he didn’t. Paired with Sorrel, the two pulled off a seamless string of wins that suspiciously resembled our last audience segmentation project – on time, on point, and a little too perfect.
Want a team that tackles your challenges like there’s a countdown and a spotlight?
We’re ready. Cube not included.
